The Booty Bash for Colon Cancer Awareness

Please join us for the fourth annual Booty Bash on Friday, August 13th at 10 pm. Nyood is our glamorous venue again this year, and as always, this event is semi-formal.
Booty Bash was inspired by Don McQuaig, who lost his life to colon cancer at the young age of 53. At that time we had no idea of how prevalent this disease was. In 2010, an estimated 22,500 Canadians will be diagnosed with colon cancer and 9,100 will die of it. Ov...erall, it is the second leading cause of death from cancer in men and women combined.
Don was a cherished husband, father, colleague and friend. In keeping with his wishes to raise funds and awareness for colon cancer, The Don McQuaig Foundation was created. In the last three years $300,000.00 has been raised at the Booty Bash and Booty Splash, a sister fall event. The funds have been directed towards several initiatives:
- The Don McQuaig Foundation Early Screening Suite at Sunnybrook Hospital
- A public awareness campaign in partnership with Colon Cancer Canada
- An oncology research fund driven by a team of specialists at Sunnybrook Hospital
- A new pediatric colonoscope at the Kensington Screening Clinic to increase screening capacity
