North York Women's Shelter

     

The North York Women’s Shelter (NYWS) is a safe refuge for abused women and their children.

Through the various programs in place at the Shelter, our goal is to help the women and children who come through our doors get a new start in their lives.

We, at NYWS, believe it is a basic human right to live without fear of physical and emotional abuse.

We believe by educating the public on the scope and severity of violence against women and children, we will initiate positive change in society.

We believe that women abuse is a societal problem, not a private matter, and that all levels of government and society must share the responsibility for the elimination of violence against women and children.
