Join us for the 4th Annual Maya’s March. Maya’s March is named for 7 year old Maya Murphy who was born with a rare genetic disorder called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. The march is a 5 km walk raising funds to benefit PCD research at Sick Kids Hospital. You can support us in many ways. You can donate directly to the cause, you can support a marcher or you can march yourself. We are also happy to receive in kind donations and items for our silent auction. To date over 450 people have joined us as pledged walkers and volunteers and as a result in the first 3 years we have raised $ 35,000.00. All money raised through Maya's March is for PCD research at Sick Kids Hospital. Research into PCD is extremely difficult because there is little knowledge of it (therefore, many misdiagnoses) and those affected represent such a small percentage of the population. The PCD Clinic at SickKids is the only one in in the country. Our goal is to raise enough money to advance research of PCD, perhaps setting up a fund to enable families from across the country to be able to access the expertise at SickKids. Last year we raised $ 13,000. This year our goal is $ 15,000.
