The Donor Relations and Stewardship Officer role is integral to the success of fundraising at Centennial College. As part of the Office of development and Alumni Engagement, the Officer will be responsible for overseeing donor relationship and stewardship activity. Reporting to the Director, Development; Donor Relations and Events, the successful incumbent will be the lead and primary contact for most Centennial College donors and will be responsible for initiating and creating meaningful engagements with donors throughout the duration of their gift and beyond. The incumbent will proactively engage and create unique opportunities with various types of donors that include individuals, corporations, foundations, employees, alumni, etc., to foster a positive donor experience that will influence giving behaviour. In addition, the incumbent will guide and advise the Donor Relations and Stewardship Assistant in donor relations and stewardship activities.

Responsibilities Identify, anticipate and create unique opportunities to enhance the donor experience Responsible for managing the donor experience and satisfaction throughout the duration of the gift / pledge term Initiate individualized stewardship plans that will maximize opportunities to address unique donor needs, create meaningful experiences and increase engagement with Centennial Provide support to Senior Development Officers with gift agreements for prospective donors to ensure terms and conditions of the donation are aligned with the college’s policies Coordinate personalized donor recognition events with stakeholders inside and outside of the college Provide support and guidance to Donor Relations and Stewardship Assistant Facilitate presentations when required to inform audiences of the process related to scholarships Identify creative solutions for aligning donor requests for scholarship criteria with appropriate policies Perform annual review of scholarship criteria to ensure it aligns with program/seasonal/course offerings Responsible for scheduling and coordinating scholarship selection committees, participating or chairing committees when required Create program and agenda for all donor relations and stewardship events Responsible for donor plaque and recognition activities Updating and maintaining donor relations and stewardship activities in Raiser’s Edge database Qualifications Three (3) year diploma/degree in Business Administration, Communications and/or equivalent Must have formal training and advanced knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM database including reporting Minimum three (3) years’ work experience in a non-profit organization and working with donors Proven emotional intelligence, relationship building and communication skills Excellent problem solver with ability to recommend solutions to reach a positive outcome Demonstrated use of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality Team player with the ability to collaborate with colleagues within the department and college wide Proven leadership skills in guiding and advising others Active listener with the ability to respond appropriately to various donor questions and
