Art on the Move Etobicoke - 2011 Arts Etobicoke and Lakeshore Arts announce
Finale Procession of Third Annual
ART ON THE MOVE
MOBILE ART PROJECT’s OUTDOOR GALLERY & LAUNCH - JUNE 14

Arts Etobicoke and Lakeshore Arts proudly announce the finale procession of ART ON THE MOVE, a mobile art project that has transformed 13 vehicles (including a 32ft sailboat) into a bold and dazzling fleet of art-adorned vehicles. On Tuesday, June 14 at 2pm a select number of vehicles from the fleet will converge on the grounds of The Assembly Hall (Kipling Ave. and Lake Shore Blvd. W.) to be celebrated and admired.

The launch marks the third and final year of the initial phase of this exciting, inter-generational community arts initiative that has brought together a total of 14 professional mural artists along with 230 community members of all ages to adorn 13 Toronto vehicles with “art instead of advertising” and bring surprise encounters with art to every corner of Toronto.

ART ON THE MOVE is a mobile community arts project that brings large-scale art to the streets of the Greater Toronto Area, and is generously supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. With the aid of Arts Etobicoke and Lakeshore Arts, ART ON THE MOVE beautifies public space by wrapping vehicles with original artwork by local community groups, such as Youth Without Shelter, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Stonegate Community Health Centre, in collaboration with professional local artists.
