Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA) is a rare blood disorder affecting less than 1000 patients worldwide.
Patients cannot produce red blood cells. The only treatment options are corticosteroids and chronic blood transfusions.
Patients on long term blood transfusions must also use chelation therapy to rid their body of excessive iron.
Diamond Blackfan Anemia Canada's mission is to raise much needed awareness, support families and raise funds for research. There are many scientists interested in researching this rare disorder but we need your help in funding these research initiatives.
