The 4th Bday Breast Fest

     

February 25th, 2012 marks the date for the 4th BDay Breast Fest at the el Mocambo. My birthday party/fundraiser/varietyshow/tastybakesale/allaroundgoodtime. My mother, Laurie Jean Chant-Sammy, passed away in 2004 after a long battle with breast cancer. Now, I celebrate my birthday with the help of a great group of friends and family to raise money to help research and prevent cancer from impacting more people. The el Mocambo donates the space as long as we run a canned food drive along with it to.
At the moment, we are looking at admission being $15 with a can of food or $20 without.
Every single penny of proceeds will be donated.Last year’s event was amazing with 8 great performances, over 200 in attendance and we raised over $2500 to be combined with whatever we raise this time around and donated to The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation (the reason for combining the two years is because a donation of $5000 or more is recognized with a plaque at the hospital).
This year’s lineup of performers is looking awesome including a new positive Cypher event open to anyone with a good message to share.
