Position: Grant Writer Duration: 6 months to a year
We are seeking a volunteer to assist us in developing our fundraising program so that we can achieve our goals in establishing an inclusive curriculum at the secondary and post-secondary level, an ALPHA Library Resource Centre, promote global awareness about the true events that took place during WWII in Asia, and engage youth in global citizenship.
As a volunteer Grant Writer you will assist the Administrator and the Project Coordinators with grant research and writing for ALPHA projects. Although we will provide mentorship throughout the volunteer placement, we offer you the opportunity to write your own grant proposal so that you can add this to your portfolio.
Canada ALPHA Educational Fund has a mandate to provide scientific and organized educational resources of WWII history in Asia to Canadian educators in the goal of fostering a critical and analytical understanding of this significant modern Asian history among students and learners of all academic levels. Canada ALPHA Educational Fund (CAEF) was established in 2006 as a not-for-profit corporation under Corporations Canada and registered as a Canadian charity under Canada Revenue Agency.
As Canada is becoming more diverse and multicultural, particularly the GTA region, education has to reflect the student body. There is an urgency to make changes to our curriculum to reflect our student population, and the needs for new information giving the rapid changes in Canada, and around the world. Hence the Ministry of Education in Ontario and the school boards are promoting inclusive curriculum and global citizenship perspectives throughout GTA and the province.
